We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of Psintica — a neo-research lab dedicated to solving the bottlenecks of modern scientific discovery.
I think that the world is on the cusp of a new era in scientific research, driven by the convergence of artificial intelligence and domain expertise. However, the current research ecosystem is not well-equipped to harness this potential. We are facing several challenges such as the scarcity of interdisciplinary researchers, the slow pace of traditional research ecosystems, and the lack of accessible mentorship for aspiring scientists. We are not doing enough science at the scale and speed that the world needs, and we are not nurturing the next generation of scientific talent effectively.
Thus I started Psintica with a simple mission: to solve the fundamental problem of scientific discovery. We want to build tools, frameworks, and communities that enable anyone with curiosity and drive to contribute to scientific research, regardless of their background or credentials.
Empowering the Next Generation: The Undergrad Lab
A secondary, yet equally vital, pillar of Psintica is democratizing research.
Traditionally, access to academic research is gated behind senior undergraduate status or graduate school. This delays the entry of creative minds into active problem-solving when their curiosity is at its peak.
Psintica operates on a different model:
- Zero-Gatekeeping Mentorship: We recruit students based on their curiosity, commitment, and drive to build rather than their prior CV.
- Accelerated Cohorts: We train students in basic computational and reading skills through structured, hands-on mini projects.
- End-to-End Projects: Students do not work on trivial exercises; they join actual research teams, write code for core pipelines, and contribute directly to technical preprints and reports.
How to Get Involved
We are building Psintica in the open. You can follow our progress, read our preprints, inspect our repositories, and participate in our discussions:
- Collaborate with us: If you are an undergraduate student, researcher, or mentor interested in AIxScience, check out our Undergrad Lab page to see active opportunities.
- Join the community: We coordinate and host all our discussions, research syncs, and paper reviews on our Discord Server. Say hello in the
#generalchannel!
This is just the beginning of our journey. Stay tuned for future posts where we will share technical progress updates, tutorial guides, and preprints from our active cohorts.
Welcome to Psintica. Let’s solve scientific discovery together.
